Hello Moose Nation,

June and July 2018 were very busy months and we greatly appreciate all that came out and to those that volunteer their time to make this Moose Lodge the great place it is.

In July we had the 130th Moose International Convention in New Orleans LA. Our Lodge was well represented by LOOM and WOTM members. LOOM Member Jim Comans was selected to be in the top 12 for the Karaoke Contest. Jim did a great job and represented our lodge, and state association with great professionalism. Our Lodge won the coveted Premier Lodge for the 3rd year in a row and our Governor Duncan Evans received the only leadership award for the second year in a row for our great fraternity.

District II held its quarterly meeting in July. The meeting included the nomination of new board of officers that are to be elected at our Annual State Convention in Alexandria LA the weekend of September 6 to 9, 2018. The new board of officers will be: Jay Davis President, William "Yankee" Bryant Vice President, Thurman Smith Treasurer, Jerry Cook Secretary, and Rex Oliver Jr. Past President.

Our Annual State Convention will be held in Alexandria LA September 6 thru the 9th 2018 at the Best Western. West Monroe Lodge will receive its Premier Lodge Award as well as other awards. The official visitor for the LOOM is Dave Smoot and for the WOTM is Sandra Thompson.

Have a Great Couple of months and remember, do some good thing for someone everyday!!!!

Hello all LOOM and WOTM members,

My name is Jay Davis. I have been given the honor to be West Monroe's Moose Lodge Administrator for this year. It is a huge undertaking but with your support we can have a great year plus make a significant impact in the lives of our members and our community.

I have "Theme" for this year that goes along with a song written and performed by Matthew West. The song is "Do Something". I encourage everyone to listen or watch the video of this song. I am calling on all our members to Do Something positive daily to move our organization upwards.

Not everyone is capable of undertaking heavy projects but, everyone can give an encouraging word or uplifting advice. Edification is needed now more than ever. Remember, most of the volunteers are also working full time jobs so if there is anything you can do to help in our effort to support our children, elderly and our community it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all that you do!!!
