June & July News
Hello Moose Nation!

West Monroe Lodge 1723 and West Monroe Women of the Moose Chapter 1623 had a great April and May.

April began with the last minute change to bring the Bayou Moose Legion #116 quarterly celebration to our Lodge. It was a very successful weekend and we had two or our members inducted into the Moose Legion. We also had 2 members enrolled on the Bayou Moose Legion #116 Board of Directors. The following weekend began with the Moose Legion Breakfast and then Fish Fry along with a silent auction and special entertainment hosted By Jeff Elliott and Friends that evening. Both events were a huge success and shows what we can do when we pull together.

May we had our new officers take office for both the LOOM and WOTM.

June brings many of the same activities but, also have training at the lodge this month. Saturday June 2, 2018 there is a state wide administrator class that begins at 10am. Please contact Jay Davis at (318) 294-2958 if you plan to attend. June 16, 2018 the ladies have training that begins at 9:30am. We have a breakfast scheduled at 9am so come in and have breakfast with us as well.

July is another full month with the Moose International Convention in New Orleans. The Convention begins July 12, 2018 thru July 15, 2018. The Lodge will be closed July 10 thru the July 15 for all to attend. The International Convention is a great experience for all. If you can attend please do. Make sure you get your Convention and Hotel reservations in as hotel rooms are filling up quickly and the discount ends for a lower rate to the convention early June.

Again, thank you for all that support the lodge. Without you we could not do as much as we do!!!!

Hello all LOOM and WOTM members,

My name is Jay Davis. I have been given the honor to be West Monroe's Moose Lodge Administrator for this year. It is a huge undertaking but with your support we can have a great year plus make a significant impact in the lives of our members and our community.

I have "Theme" for this year that goes along with a song written and performed by Matthew West. The song is "Do Something". I encourage everyone to listen or watch the video of this song. I am calling on all our members to Do Something positive daily to move our organization upwards.

Not everyone is capable of undertaking heavy projects but, everyone can give an encouraging word or uplifting advice. Edification is needed now more than ever. Remember, most of the volunteers are also working full time jobs so if there is anything you can do to help in our effort to support our children, elderly and our community it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all that you do!!!

Jay
